Exchange Lodz, Poland
Sunday, 23 September 2007

Sometimes you release life is good. Today is one of those days. Sitting here, without worries - barefoot in the sun - writing this post while uploading a selection of pictures from Poland last week.

I went to Lodz with a delegation of 5 Belgian students to talk about the European citizenship. Besides this we had some other interesting workshops like photography and salsa dance classes.  As for the evenings, we made our program collide with the ESWiL student conference. ESWiL stands for: European Students Week in Lodz. With nearly 100 students, they had dedicated private clubs and arrangements every night for us. I liked!

Ow and 8 of my portrait pictures got selected for an exhibition. They are currently exposed together with the best of the other student in front of the city council.

An exchange to never forget!

Future Plans
Monday, 17 September 2007

Just got back from a really cool exchange project in Poland. More about that in a next post later on this week when I have more pictures.

Anyway, I get asked nearly every day what I’m going to do now; after my graduation and my summer jobs at Nascom and Center Parcs.

Well if you didn’t knew yet.. the plan is.. you are not going to believe it..

keep on studying!

But as a salaried student *thank god*. I signed a contract at the University of Eindhoven until October 2009 as a Student / Researcher in the field of User System Interaction.

I’m really glad I got selected for this program, since it was quite a hassle to get in and only a few worldwide seem to get a shot. Looks like my thesis might have helped out a bit in the end, but I especially want to thank Liesbeth H. - Jan Louis Debr. and Wim W. for their recommendation letters.

I love working in an international environment, and since all my classmates will be foreigners from within different fields I’m really looking forward to the co-operation.

After these 2 years I should have my professional doctorate in Engineering (PDEng). Sounds cool doesn’t it? I hope it opens some doors as a usability engineer or something, but I’m not sure yet where I’ll end up eventually. The program starts October 1st but I have one last test October 25th  on which I should score a GPA (grade point average) of 6,5 so I still might get kicked out in the end. Let’s hope not, cross your fingers ya’all - to the books Robby!

Malmofestivalen
Saturday, 25 August 2007

Spent my time in Sweden last weeks for a wonderful reunion with some exchange students. Off course we attended the Malmöfestival to bring back the memories.. and I enjoyed it so freakin’ much!

On the way back I was considering going there every year from now on.. But since everyone is leaving now, or done studying - even the locals I knew there - I won’t have much business there anymore if there is no reunion going on. Hmm.. It’s stays my number 1 festival.

There was like a “facebook-moment” every day  (they really should consider enlisting this word in the dictionary) and so I promised a lot of people to put all these on facebook.. But although I love facebook, I dislike it’s photo uploading features since it quite slow and a lot of work when you have a big photoset. That’s why they are on flickr. Enjoy:
