Interactive mobile seating

Bumped into this graduation project via core77. Apparantly it was done in the public library in Eindhoven. I so have to check this out during lunch break sometime, but I’m afraid it’s not there anymore.

This RFID equipped mobile seating follows you around for if you want to sit down and read a book for a while. Also setting up a presentation setting seems a breeze:

Finnish studentdorm / screen
Friday, 07 December 2007

Defiantly the coolest (and geekiest) dormitory of Scandinavia right now: “Mikkis”.

Mikontalolights, as the project is called, was created by some students at the TUT (Tampere University of Technology, Finland). The windows / light blocks in the building serve as pixels to represent a massive screen. Games on there are controlled over a mobile phone via BlueTooth or WLAN.

The atmosphere during the launch party on Tuesday made me want to be there. Really.

Interactive 360 degree video
Thursday, 06 December 2007

Interesting concept for online interactive streaming video. A bit like like panorama pictures, exept in this case we are dealing with motion picture. Just click play and drag while the video is playing.

More of these over here.
