Lynx Pocket Pulling Power Billboard
Monday, 30 March 2009
Emergency call from London:

“What was your thesis about.. that interactive advertising thingy?!”
Interactive Narrowcasting, why?”
“I just encountered some awesome narrowcasting..”
.. a half naked lady on a billboard!"
“Could you put a picture on twitter?”

Half naked woman on a billboard.

ALLRIGHT! Well buddy, the name for that would be.. a half naked woman on a billboard.
Sorry, forgot to tell that narrowcasting had to do with digital signage and such.

Never the less, that's some neat bill-boarding!
Googling taught us this an ad for a new body spray:

Kudos @por.

Your weight on display at the bus stop
Thursday, 19 March 2009
To hell with privacy. This interactive billboard shows your weight in the bus stop while you are sitting on the bench. Don’t like what you see? Don’t sit down.. or go Fitness First.

Augmented Reality Kiosk by Lego
Tuesday, 03 February 2009
It has been nearly 2 years since I finished my thesis, but sometimes I still encounter relevant articles that I would like to add to the archive. In one of the chapters I discussed the use of augmented reality in narrowcasting.

There were quite some examples of augmented reality in advertising in the meanwhile; but it’s the first time I stumble upon an in-store interactive kiosk that was built for this idea:

The content of the box is augmented on top of it when held in front of the camera.
Makes perfect sense for this product. Nice implementation. Via Geekologie.

Camera that can detect your age
Friday, 07 March 2008

Byteback tweeted this video a moment ago. It's about camera hardware / software combination that can detect your age. They would use it for security..

I would use it to target the 8-year old in front of my narrowcasting screen with some candy-ads instead of that sleazy cat dinner commercial that was running seconds before.
