Gesture based system interactions seem to surface now and then lately, and the project of this Tokyo University engineer Tsuyoshi Horo is another example of that.

 

Technically he has put a circular array of cameras to detect body movement. This results in a real-time 3D volumetric model of himself that is converted to virtual cubes. By analyzing these cubes as data, gestures can be extracted. More info..
